Kate Russell BA (Hons), Barrister, MA

Kate studied business law, qualified as a barrister and later worked in industry.  She has experience as an operations manager and as a supplier of corporate HR and training in the manufacturing, distribution and service sectors.  

Her unusual combination of legal background, direct line management experience and hands-on HR skills, enable Kate to present the stringent requirements of the law balanced against the realities of working life.  Her robust approach and no-nonsense style have earned her the title of The HR Headmistress (which she refers to as strategic use of spectacles and a smile).

As well as presenting employment law training for Russell HR Consulting, she is a senior presenter for Lexis Nexis, IDS and ELT and a popular public speaker.

In addition, Kate is the author of the employment modules in Alchemy for Managers and has written two books: 101 Tips For Employers – The Briefcase Bible For Employment Questions, the ultimate employment book for managers and Off the Sick List! How to turn employee absence into attendance.
